Colette Sible, M.S., L.Ac. is a licensed acupuncturist specializing in the treatment of Chronic pain/ Back Pain/ Musculoskeletal Pain (Neck Pain, Hip Pain, Knee Pain, etc.), Mood Disorders (Stress, Anxiety and Depression) and Fertility/Women’s health conditions.
She graduated with honors from Tristate College of Acupuncture, and was one of the few students chosen to intern with Suzanne Hill of Turtle Bay Acupuncture for three years.
She also has a B.A. in Anthropology from Tulane University, attended graduate school in Paris at La Sorbonne, and also received her MFA from University of California, San Diego/La Jolla Playhouse.
A native of Colorado, Colette was lucky enough to have a maternal aunt who was a successful chiropractor with training in acupuncture, and extensive knowledge in nutrition and supplements who had a significant presence in her life growing up.
Actually, Colette first came to acupuncture after being involved in a car accident that resulted in random but extreme headaches. After getting treatment from an excellent chiropractor, rolfer, and even consulting a neurologist, these headaches persisted. Her aunt suggested acupuncture and she was able to successfully resolve the headaches within a treatment plan.
And later, while in graduate school for theater, Colette again turned to acupuncture for stress relief and some musculoskeletal pain. Again, she was struck with how immediate and effective these treatments were for treating stress, as well as body aches and pains/injuries.
Post theater school, while searching for something aligned with more of her values of service, Colette was referred to her future mentor, Suzanne Hill. Not sure of her next step in life or a career, Suzanne proposed that she shadow in Suzanne’s office to better understand how acupuncture works. The results she witnessed were nothing short of amazing and Colette was astounded at how effective acupuncture was in treating a myriad of issues. Suzanne took Colette under her wing and proposed acupuncture as a career path and then mentored her the entire time she was in school. She still confers with Suzanne on difficult cases, and continues to be learn from Suzanne’s twenty plus years of experience.
Colette’s mission and purpose is bringing relief to her patients dealing with chronic pain, back/musculoskeletal pain, depression/anxiety and/or female issues so they can lead the lives they truly desire. She believes in the body’s innate ability to change and heal, especially if given the support that it truly needs. Colette sees the body as intelligent reflection of healing wisdom and her goal is to help every single person she works with to reconnect to that inner possibility so they can heal and live their best lives possible. She is wholly committed to this process and open to including all modalities that can make that happen.
Colette enjoys playing tennis, and during the pandemic, she has been riding her spin bike, and walking the north county trail path in Westchester. She also likes to travel, especially internationally if possible almost every year. Colette also loves good books, television shows and is particularly drawn to British dramas. She is also often researching the latest health trends and treatments that can use to further help her patients get better!
